US Visit – August, 2010

After a single day’s work in Wichita, Kansas, I went to Boston and stayed with friends for a week while commuting to work at Pawcatuck, CT every day. On the weekend, I landed up at Param’s place at New City, near New York. Param was a bachelor the whole week, and so while the cat was away, the mice had to play!

Met Raghu and Raju. Spoke to Ajit, Shahab and Nalin. Shahab was trying to reform himself during Ramzan and confessed: ”Sau choohe kha kar billi haj ko chali”!

As always, here are some pics of the visit ...

Received an award from Bombardier for being the first supplier out of 47 suppliers to have exited the Detailed Design Phase (DDP). (We will be supplying the nickel cadmium batteries for their new Learjet LJ 200 aircraft, the only one of its kind made of composites).

Sitting on a park bench ..remembering Jethro Tull!. This was somewhere in Boston, enroute to The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where we had gone to drop off a friend who had taken admission there.

At Raghu's new house in New Jersey. Very satisfied after a lavish spread!

Visiting Princeton University. Looking at the awesome buildings there.

Princeton University. Another awesome building. The more civilized in the group in the fore-ground wearing pants!

Princeton University. Yet another awesome building.

John Witherspoon. The sixth President of Princeton.

Princeton University. Listening to some street musicians. Very talented. The lady was turning an interesting pink with her efforts!

On the trail to Bear Mountain which is located on the west side of the Hudson river. Do you see any sign of a "trail"?

Leaning against a tree. Thank God this is not a video, the wobbling legs are not evident!

Found only one of these hard to miss trail markers. Managed to find our way around with the help of the long-legged GPS!

Sitting at a view point with Param.

A view of the Hudson River. In the background is the Indian Point Energy Center (IPEC) a three-unit nuclear power plant which is likely to get shut down since the Department of Environmental Conversation ruled that it violates the federal Clean Water Act.

An interesting looking leaning tree with the Hudson river in the background.

Didn't venture here to take part in the military sharp shooting exercise since Param forgot to bring his gun!

Contemplating heading back home at the half-way point without meeting Mr Bear.

Cooked some Hydrabadi Biryani in New York.

Complete with Raita ...

And the most awesome Bagara Baigan. This is created specially for Neal (Param's son) and shall be called Neal's Bagara Baigan - Patent pending! Recipe modified by Param to substitute Pumpkin seeds instead of Peanuts!

I know you guys have your tongues hanging out at this point, so I will be very considerate and not post any pics of the barbeque that we had on Param's deck when Raju visited us ...
